St Andrew Beach
St Andrew Beach
Saint Andrew beach is very close to the Katakolon port, it’s located behind the hill of Katakolon and it’s only 4 km away.
Saint Andrew is a part of important historical significance. Ancient Pheia was located inside the bay of Saint Andrew, which was the cape of Elis Prefecture. It was used as base of Athens troops, to capture the Elis Prefecture during the Peloponnesian War. Over the years the port was devastated by the physical effects of the sea.
Today Saint Andrew is an archaeological site, a place of natural beauty. The beach with thick sand and rocks during the summer is full of life. It’s got a magnificent view of the sea.
There is also a cafe and a traditional restaurant where someone can enjoy coffee or meal.
